Talia DiPietro, LCSW

Learn to recover your sense of well-being by tapping into your strengths, letting go of unhelpful patterns, and cultivating self-compassion and habits that make sense in your life. I will help you find your best self.

We all have times in our lives that feel particularly overwhelming. In these situations, it’s natural to have strong reactions and emotions that are difficult to manage. In order to feel well, balanced and happy, we have to actually practice caring for ourselves. I can help you develop a stronger relationship with yourself and start feeling better. I believe that therapy can be used as a tool and resource to learn real-life skills. Through our work together, you will learn to understand yourself better, find steadiness in yourself even in stressful or chaotic moments, cope more effectively with depression or anxiety, and let go of unhelpful behaviors or beliefs that aren't serving you.

I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma or PTSD, whether in their childhoods, in a relationship, due to life stress or a recent isolated experience. As my approach is trauma-informed and relational, I recognize that difficult experiences from our past impact our self-worth, our capacity to cope with stress, and our ability to feel comfortable or safe connecting with others. I’m committed to helping people process trauma and reconnect to a sense of hope.

I have provided therapy as a licensed psychotherapist since 2010, and have been working in social work since 2005.  I am currently located in Larchmont, New York, and provide sessions both in-person and virtually throughout New York and Pennsylvania. I work with individuals age fourteen and above. I offer free 20-minute phone consultations so that we may decide if I’m the best fit.

I’ve received extensive training in working with childhood and developmental trauma, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and utilize evidence-based and insight-oriented models of treatment. My areas of expertise include:

  • trauma /PTSD due to childhood trauma, relationship dynamics, narcissistic abuse, life stressors or a recent isolated experience

  • anxiety/overwhelming stress

  • the experience of depression

  • difficult life transitions, including the transition from high school to college, and college to the working world

  • the challenges of pregnancy and/or parenthood

  • those impacted by family/partners dealing with addiction
